5 Journal Prompts For When Your Feeling Stuck

Lately I’ve been feeling a little less than stellar. I felt like I lost that “spark” that kept me feeling energized, alive, and ultimately - present. “Don’t worry, it’s normal” everyone did their best to console me with.

Yes, it’s “normal” to have ups & downs in life. To feel sad, tired, or just a little down for no apparent reason (or understandably so!).

But that doesn’t mean you give up and stick around in that godawful place. At least - I sure didn’t want to. So I decided to do whatever it took to bring myself out of this stucky (& yucky) feeling PRONTO.

Gratitude journalling (nothing fancy - simply taking 5-10 minutes each morning & night to list things/people/circumstances I am grateful for) definitely helps. It’s the first step in crawling back into greatness.

Sometimes, though, you need even more. That’s when a clarity shift is necessary. A reconnection with how you feel, why you feel it, and what you WANT to do about it. See, often times we lack clarity about what we even want. That’s where you lose your power. Hence, stepping back into empowerment can be as simple as stating what we want.

And it’s all about asking yourself the right questions.

Here are 5 of my favourites

*many are directly inspired by mentors, teachers & coaches I’ve worked with or currently admire.

  • What do I want right now?

  • What would my life look, feel, and be like if everything and anything was possible?

  • What am I grateful for (already!) having now?

  • What does my future (wiser) self want me to know now?

  • How would it feel if I fully loved & approved of myself now? (Regardless of anything & everything else).

The answers you need are always inside of you. It’s just about being brave enough to ask, listen, and be honest in your reflections. Best wishes on your journalling journeying!
