My 5 Daily Rituals For Radiance & Vitality.
Your future starts today. The way you feel & show up tomorrow begins with right NOW. In other words, all those “little” things you chose to do (or not) add up to creating how you look & feel on a daily basis. Big transformation starts with small rituals that you not only do consistently…but that you LOOK FORWARD to doing each and every day. If you have to force yourself into your “rituals”, they will not serve you - at least not in the longterm. Yes, there is an element of diligence and faith involved here, but the inner essence of each of these practices should restore your sense of feeling GOOD, taking immaculate care of yourself - physically, emotionally, and spiritually*.
*Please omit any & all that you may dread or may otherwise feel are out of alignment with your whole + authentic self.
1. Wake up to a mini-meditation in bed.
A) Listen to your favourite calm, soothing music or binaural beats and think about how grateful you are for what you already have // who you already are, and then a few things in your day that you are genuinely EXCITED about.
OR
B) Follow a guided meditation (10-20 mins) - I either do a Deep Imagining from TO BE MAGNETIC or Dr. Joe Dispenza’s AM meditation.
2. Hydrate.
Drink a glass of warm or room temperature water. If you’re feeling chilled (or it’s Winter/Fall), add lemon (which is warming). If you’re feeling hot (or it’s Summer/Spring), add lime (which is cooling).
3. Move.
Shake, stretch, jump, dance - do whatever you need to in order to step into FEELING your body, muscles, and shifting that lymph! 10-30 minutes is great. This will energize you, rev up your metabolism, all the while helping to shift stagnant energy (or yesterday’s food!) and clear you for the day ahead. Lately I’ve been loving Lottie Murphy’s Pilates classes on Youtube (and even subscribed to her online membership studio because I adore her approach to mindfully training the body…and her precious British accent).
4. Write.
Keeping a journal allows you to track patterns, trends and improvements over time. Even at the start of the day, you may feel a bit confused and uncertain about your feelings. By getting them down on paper, you’re able to tap into your internal world and better make sense of things. I use a daily prompt inspired by one of the coaches or thought-leaders I am following at the moment, or I simply start listing off the things I am grateful for - past, present, and future. 10 minutes is all I need here to really feel the benefits.
5. Eat.
*BUT WAIT FOR HUNGER*. So many of us eat on autopilot - because it’s “the time to eat”, or it’s convenient, or simply a break from, or delay to doing work (or something you just don’t WANT to do). It’s absolutely vital for your health & vitality (not to mention digestion & optimal weight) to wait until you FEEL the hunger pangs - that’s usually a rumble or growl in your stomach. This signals that your body is chemically prepared to digest food. From there, I prepare myself a meal that 1. TASTES good to me + 2. makes me FEEL good (during & afterwards). “Health” isn’t a sacrifice, it’s a loving choice. Lately I’ve been having fun with various warm oatmeal bowl variations mixed with a greens powder from the market & topped with spiced stewed fruit to keep me warm!
Okay, and there we have it…from this point onwards - it’s launching into my day with ease & grace. By first prioritizing my physical, emotional, & spiritual bodies, I am optimally-equipped to take on the day with a sense of empowerment + confidence, knowing that I am (& always will be) safe, well looked-after, and loved.
