FEELFUL EATING: Michelle of AIYANA

Food became more than “just food” for Michelle when she was postpartum…it was then that she felt the visceral sensations in her body that were leading her to make the most nourishing, nutritious choices possible. In fact, she vividly remembers craving green smoothies…like her life depended on it!

Just another example of how our body’s always know. If you worry that you crave the “bad stuff”, trust that when you’re truly tuned in, the communication from your gut will never lead you wrong - you just need to know how to honor these messages.

Of course, this led Michelle down a path not just of fueling up on the bright & vibrant ingredients her body desired in order to make it through being a mama bear to 3 young children (three kiddos born within 15-months - wowzers, a round of applause is in order!) - but also on an entrepreneurial journey of launching AIYANA NUTRITION.

“I saw a void in the food-delivery market for mothers at various stages of perinatal health, and by launching Aiyana, became committed to supporting and nourishing women, perinatal women, mothers, and their families. “

But how can we commit to supporting & nourishing ourselves with food…without taking it to extremes? Michelle is a huge advocate for intuitive eating, and has always lived with the mindset that food is fuel, and is (literally!) a necessary ingredient in a happy, balanced life. She isn’t afraid to eat (when she is hungry, of course!), and follows nutritional advice only to the point where she feels empowered - not restricted.

As for the very sacred time that Michelle does get to eat, she shares that it's a quiet space that allows for connection & therefore optimal digestion of her food. Even if that means having the kids eat before or after her and her husband munch down on their meals - she reinstates the value of stepping out of the chaos to truly be with each bite of her food…as it’s the simple gifts in life that really do keep on giving (hello: more energy & being a more present, kind mama!).

For GTA-based busy women or families in my tribe, I’d love to introduce you to AIYANA NUTRITION as a helpful tool in your toolbox of fueling your body from a place of love and peace.
